worship setlist @ SCC – 2010.04.11 [guest leading w/ vivien]…

vivien + i were invited by seattle community church (http://seattlechurch.org <- how did they score THAT url?!?!) to guest lead on the 11th.

a beautiful sunday morning in laurelhurst!

after getting my feet wet by leading the Q kids in worship on easter, it was now time to face the adults!
it was cool to worship alongside this community and even cooler to see some of their congregation members that i had first met almost 13+ years ago when my brother was the youth/worship pastor at washington korean presbyterian church (wkpc). matter of fact, my brother had just guest led there before me so they were given a double-dose of the “song” brothers!
so amazing to see how much people, their lives have changed but strangely seemed to have stayed the same.
got a chance to worship alongside some blessed/talented worshippers/musicians.

a BIG shout out to jin for his amazing shredding skillz… still got it after all these years and to pastor leah for coming alongside and supporting us. it felt SO good and SO right to have church and seeing her presence there! we miss you sorely! 😦

and folks, if you’re ever in the u-dist area and want to check out an awesome person of God and a church doing some kick A stuff, swing by sinners + saints church! hopefully they’ll invite me to guest lead one of these sundays now that they’re almost legal!

…am nervous about this coming sunday and leading at Q for the first time since 01/04/2009. have some preparation and prayer to do!

worship setlist @ Q KIDS – 2010.04.04 [Easter]…

thanks to katey, i ended my year plus hiatus from leading worship on of all sundays… easter sunday!
i was invited to lead worship for the kids ministry @ Q!
i was completely nervous and fearful, had butterflies in my stomach from anxiety! and let’s not forget that i hadn’t touched my guitar in so long that my calloused fingers have turned soft and supple! but after standing in front of them, i realized: no greater group to lead than children… they were complete putty in my hand and adored everything i did!  😉
after leading sunday in and sunday out for almost a decade and a half (yikes!) it was a mix mash of emotions and thoughts not having to lead worship. for starts, it’s SUPER nice to sleep in on Sunday or get away for the weekend w/ my lovely wife!
but at the same time there’s the tugging on my heart from the Holy Spirit. i know that my heart and my life belongs to the Lord and that i desire to do more than just come and go every Sunday… a yearning to serve Him and the church.
the time away from ministry has caused me to come back with more questions and uncertainty than i had when i left, but i’m looking forward to walking forward in faith and seeking answers and deepening a faith that can be firmly rooted in Christ.

thanks to the kids @ Q who taught me how to enjoy worship again… can’t wait to worship w/ them again!  😀

Lord, forgive me…  
as i reflect on this day the lengths You went for me:

   i am disgusted by my mediocrity,
   i am humbled by Your mercy, grace, and forgiveness
   i praise You for defeating death and the grave!
   i desire to experience constant and continual change,
   i commit to living for You (but will unfortunately fail… a lot).

was blessed to be a part of quest’s joint easter service.  
it felt weird not being involved w/ the logistical planning of this off-site service after all these years, but equally relaxing to come/participate and be free to worship, engage and fellowship.
and to look around and see our church come together for one combined service was a bit surreal… having 500+ folks inside the school gymnasium.  
worship was outstanding… a big hi-five to the ministry and the team for ushering such beautiful and melodic sounds to those in attendance!

and now that lent is over, i am considering making “beer-ola-fee” a permanent fast…
