    marination mobile…

    we came:

    we saw:

and we conquered (kalbi tacos + kimchee fried rice w/ kalbi):

i thought the fried rice w/ kimchee was a bit too oily (though some could argue good food can never be too oily!) but the kalbi taco was awesome!
overall, good grub from marination mobile!
i’ll have to try the aloha sliders next time, heard it’s yummy.
definitely worth checking out, you can also follow them on twitter: @curb_cuisine

    injuries galore…

this has been an interesting summer of injuries so far.
i have always prided myself on being physically fit, but if i were to be honest, the last several years i have turned more and more into a ‘weekend warrior’.
i never stretch before (or after) doing any activity and up until now i have been very blessed not to suffer any major injuries… but i am beginning to feel more and more aches and pain from day to day activities. i fear i might be due up for a major mishap!  😦
for instance, both of my achilles tendon feel sore after doing some light jogging and my ankles get sore during certain climates.
anyway… this summer alone, three close friends of mine have been the victims of some heinous injuries. please keep them and their road to recovery in prayer:

    1. matt “lawdawg” law.

    • injured playing softball: was rounding 3rd base on his way to score and collided w/ the catcher.
    • result(s): lost a front tooth, had his upper lip stitched up and incurred misc. cuts and deep abrasions on arms and face.

    2. pastor eugene cho.

    • injured playing basketball: in the last ten minutes of the open gym, was going to the hoop and made a sharp cut and then “snap, crackle, POP”.
    • result(s): ruptured his OTHER achilles’ tendon! (More …)

welcome home… but please keep praying for n.korea

the look on both euna lee and laura ling says it all:

though i’m grateful that former president bill clinton was able to secure their freedom, my heart aches to think of the countless others who have no champion/advocate to rescue them. where hopes of freedom is non-existent… hope for escape from the abuse and deplorable conditions in the gulag-style prisons is more realized, and often welcomed in death.
and even those who might escape aren’t guaranteed a better life. this was depicted in the movie “crossings“. there are reports of escapees who endure so much more hell once they flee north korea (click here to read more).
though injustice is rampant across the world, this affects me on a deeper level because THEY are my brothers and sisters… my people! my heart aches for those suffering, but i think i ache more because of the lack of conviction and action on my end. my gift/donation to LiNK seems so insignificant.

Lord, it’ll start with prayer.  then let me get off my knees and be moved to action. compelled to shine Your justice…
