happy 2nd anniversary – the best is yet to come…

been a while since i last posted… but i figured if there was anything that would cause my lazy butt to do it, this would be worth it!

happy anniversary to the most awesome wife + even more awesome mama!
for fun, we ate at our FAV lunch spot and then walked around the uw campus and pretended we were students…  🙂
we want our baby to get ready for college already.

    gorgeous day… evidence:

    week 39+ reflections…

we were hoping we would have enough time to take a few more pics before our daughter arrived, so we headed off to some picturesque seattle locales.
and the above pic is by FAR my favorite of the pics we took, as the weight of carrying a human life (literally) inside of you is worn clearly on viv’s face. 🙂
through the day, she was (and continues to be) an AWESOME sport! i learn so much from her on how to enjoy the journey of life (not only arriving at self-designated checkpoints) and i look forward growing old and decrepit together with her.
anyway, if you don’t see or hear from us for a bit, “K.I.T.“, “have a great summer” and “stay cool and don’t change for anyone“.  class of 2010 ROCKS!  😉

FYI: useful tip #27 for a pregnant belly:

You should put the nice pics next to the tongue sticking out one and frame it….haha… Good luck on the labor. Just hit George in the arm each time the contractions get bad. It will make ME feel better if you do….

    week 34+ reflections…

hard to believe… as i sit here and look at my wife’s belly, i’m awe-struck.
it seems like yesterday that we were half way around the world seeing sights + experiencing life beyond our imagination, now… we’re nearing the gestational finish line of our baby girl.
am looking forward to everything being turned upside-down and inside-out.
and for the record, my wife was gorgeous before and 34+ weeks into this, she still looks HOT! 😉

    fit body, mind and soul…

with viv’s recent discovery that she has gestational diabetes, we have had to make some necessary changes for her, the baby and our family as a whole.
though we prayed she would pass her glucose test, it did not happen.
then when she was summoned back to the clinic for a 2nd glucose test, we again prayed (and had many loved ones pray too) and again… it did not happen (according to the results, she failed miserably)!
but it’s ok, in our faith journey we believe and continue to trust that God is good.
we are doing what we can to remember all the blessings bestowed upon us, how His unending favors abound… and how can we deny? it’s ever apparent! we believe in a God who is God over our good times just as much as in our difficult times.
while viv is super bummed about not being able to eat all of her “favorites” (=any noodles, pastries, sweets), she’s been a trooper through this and i’m proud of her and can’t wait to tell our daughter how brave and kick-ass her mom is!

along with eating portioned carbs (which is tough for me since i LOVE rice), we are embarking on the “spartacus” exercise regime…
though it would seem by my picture below that i wouldn’t need anymore exercise, i do this because i love my wife and covenanted to journey with her.

can anyone recommend any diabetes-friendly meals?

    worship setlist @ NCC – 2010.04.25…

this is a week late in posting… but last sunday was asked by my bro (the person who introduced all things ‘worship leading’ to me) to help him out at his church. since april seemed to have been the  month of worship and him being family, i accepted. actually, vivien + i accepted. she helped out with vocals and i helped out on the drums.
another brutally early morning to arise and practice…
a “songs from song” family kind of sunday.
thanks to northwest community church (ncc) for allowing us to worship alongside them + to the elder “song” family for the fun times after!
time to enjoy sleeping in again in the month of may!  😉

    happy 1st anniversary, viv!!!

    we did it!
they say that the first year of marriage is supposed to be the toughest… and though there were definitely tough times it’s also been the best year because now my life is no longer just mine but yours as well, and i would have it no other way!
you continue to amaze and teach me what 1 cor. 13 personified is. you aspire me to be a better husband, friend and advocate.
i am truly the most blessed guy b/c i get to journey this life (and the world) together with you!

i love you and am looking to celebrating as many more anniversaries as the Lord allows (and not making you upset!).

(to those who’ve been married for > a year, you’re our heroes! please feel free to pass along any marital wisdom, tips and advice. 🙂)

(amazing photos courtesy of our dear friends at ghkim!)
