    congrats: laura + israel…

shot another wedding video w/ the creative phenom, joseph jang at the inn at port ludlow (a beautiful place by the way).
on the ferry on our way there i was a bit worried for this outdoor wedding considering the weather leading up to it was bad and it was supposed to be 50/50 that day (the bride, laura had the right idea: 02:14 marker).
can’t believe how INCREDIBLE the weather turned out to be… and everything else sort of fell into place (as it seems to quite often on weddings) for these two, their families + guest.
although there was a RARE + hilarious snafu by p.e. (03:27 marker)!  🙂

    when i grow up…

i hope to be as good a guitar player as this 12-year old (either that or i’m going to throw my taylor away and give up :()!
as a 9 year-old, sungha jung learned to play guitar while watching trace bundy (i have never seen anyone use more capos than this guy!) on youtube and the rest, as they say, is history…
now he’s here in the u.s. on tour playing together with trace. how cool is that?
anyway, joseph + i had the pleasure of being @ the triple door (an uber-cool venue, btw!) to record this magical night of music!
here’s a clip of them deciding to do an impromptu rendition of u2’s “with or without you“…
    enjoy!

That is, as they say, frakking awesome.

@Daniel Azuma: sungha said it takes him a few day to learn an arrangement/song… that’s sick. 😐

Hey how tall are you? How tall is Sungha? Sorry just wanna know..

      • georgesong 8:07 pm on February 7, 2010 Permalink | Reply

@mindy: i’m 6’4″ on good days (5’5″ on other ;))… i would say sungha’s 5’3″? but then again, he’s only 12 and probably has more growing to do.

    congrats: jinny + daniel…

had a killer opportunity to shoot a wedding video w/ the creative genius, joseph jang in honolulu, hawaii. we were able to share a beautiful day with jinny + daniel as they tied the knot before their family, friend and God:  january 19, 2010. not a bad time of the year to be in hawaii (considering the uber-warm weather in seattle ;))!
i first met the groom, daniel over 10+ years ago during a praise event in bellevue! crazy to see him all grown up and getting married… i couldn’t be happier for him. he’s truly one of the nicest guys i have EVER met in my life (i think it shows up in the video when you look at his smile).  🙂
i’m amazed at joseph and his mad skillz! he truly has an incredible eye + did a great job of weaving together the story of that magical day. i know that they will look at this video for years to come and be transported back to their special day!
if you need any video-related need, let him know! i promise you WON’T be disappointed.
congrats again to jinny + daniel… may the Lord bless, keep + shine His face upon you two in your marriage journey!
    enjoy!

    congrats: rosana + mike…

had the privilege of helping joseph with the wedding of these two cool peeps/dentists on 10.10.09…
i have never been to an egyptian/chinese wedding before in my life, but can now cross it off on my ‘bucket list’.
when joseph and i were in the bride’s room as she was getting prepped, i almost dropped my camera when i heard the mother walk in and begin to holler at the top of her lungs… i thought she had either burned her hand on a hot curling iron or something crazy extreme, i mean seriously, i thought someone died!
then, the other women in the room began to join her in the hollering (about 1:00 min into the video) and i was sure hotel security was going to knock down the door any second to see if we were all still alive.

now i know that screaming at times can help relieve tension (More …)

    congrats tory + phil…

had a wonderful opportunity today to help out my dear friend, joseph jang shoot a wedding video (and not be a wedding singer for a change! ;)) for a fun couple, tory + phil.
though it was gloom + doom rain/poop weather saturday, God really blessed these two lovebirds and provided them with an awesome day!
they were such cool people and had such a cool story… and God’s hands upon their lives/their relationship was so evident.
being involved on their special day was so nostalgic and reminded me of my wedding day (almost a year ago already!)… and how much fun vivien + i had.
no wonder the ghkims (who shot our wedding), john + josephs (helped shoot our engagement), jane lees (who shot our engagement), leo chens + corey hages of the world love doing this! not to sound cliche, but it’s such an honor to help  a couple on their blessed day and to capture this moment so they can remember it for a lifetime!
and as a special treat to the married couple, joseph was able to compile all the video shot and provide a SDE (same day edit) video for them to enjoy during the reception. the look of surprise/shock on their face was worth it all!
so if you’re getting married (or know someone who is) and want a kick-A videographer give him a buzz!

    enjoy!
