anyway, this sunday… we had jason rust (one of our newest staff here at Q) share. great job, JR!
he did an awesome job sharing from our continual journey through the book of acts.
we are blessed w/ tremendous teachers at our church…

for worship we were sans drums and had a more intimate sound and feel.
peter olson took lead on a couple of songs and did a great job of leading w/ the Spirit’s sensitivity. am looking forward to him taking a more visible role in leading!

was an interesting sunday… had read about the unfortunate news surrounding mike gugliemucci and i remember being saddened to hear the news.
the devastation he, his parents, his wife + family must feel.
p.e. has a great entry about this on his blog and the need to allow others into our lives so there is accountability and transparency in our lives. the temptation for us as believers in this world is immense… and if you’re in a position of authority/visibility in the ministry, all the more realization that our actions have further repercussions than we might acknowledge.
Lord, may my heart remain honest and painfully bear to You and those who love and care for me… that i will be acknowledge my brokenness, sincere in my repentance and confession, and fierce in adoration of You!

back in the saddle this past week leading.
i look forward to and enjoy the times off from leading. it is so re-energizing for me to be able to participate in the worship versus leading… and it also makes me pray, prepare and work harder when i do return, to give it my best when i am leading again.
this past week, i was so blessed by everything, the team, the set, the church/community… by God. i needed it. it was good times and i am blessed by the tremendously gifted workers i get to do this with!

back to leading. it had been a couple of weeks. it was nice being on a break and nice to return.
knowing that it was going to be a scorcher on that sunday, i decided to have katey and grace take lead on most of the songs. it was a blessing to have them lead the church w/ their voice. they sounded awesome. seriously… awesome!

i had someone come up after service and say:
“man, worship sounded so good today… not sure what it was…”
“was it because of katey’s and grace’s voice?” i asked.
“THAT’S IT! and plus you weren’t singing much!” they shot back.

but, it’s true. i am so blessed and encouraged when i get to come alongside not only singers like these two, but the entire band that is gifted and using their gifts to honor God. gives me such joy to be able to do this…
